It was so strange, that shifting glance,
A head spinning, stomach turning,
And the dry falls went far, far below...
And in between, nothing but spinning blades,
to hurry me along where the rocks could not,
and spraying red. I checked my hands, but they
had all their own blood. Knees vanished in
pulpy mess and I leaned over, far, far over...
The mists couldn't hide the bottom and
they couldn't hide the sky. It stretched,
I stretched, but I can't reach. I can't ever reach.
But I think I see you standing there.
Over there, on the cliff, high above where I float,
But a world stretches between us, and I can't reach.
You look like you're turning away, far, far away...
I'm fine. I'll fall or I'll fly, you'll be here, or gone,
But I'll sleep in peace and wake with a smile,
because for one small moment, before
the wind tore me away, you were near.
